Are you wondering what you can do to kick off 2012 to a fabulous, healthy start? Sign up for your Pilates classes!
A recent article in the Los Angeles Times cited small, incremental steps as the best way to stick to New Year’s resolutions, rather than making grand, sweeping plans that may set you up for disappointment. It’s a philosophy I’m going to try in 2012 – join me!
With that in mind we’re starting the New Year and new Pilates term with a focus on one small step – improving our core breathing. Many of you hear me talk about this during classes, but it is so key to creating a healthier you that we are going to spend a fair amount of time on it during this term. If you’re breathing properly, things are just plain easier!
From there we’ll work on some harder core exercises, eventually flowing more and more quickly from one exercise to the other as the term progresses. Surprise yourself at how your strength, concentration and stamina will increase over time!
Those of you in the Ballet + Pilates classes have already seen this in action. We got our aerobic workouts at the end of the year, partially inspired by dancing to The Nutcracker music in class. Get ready, we have a new Ballet + Pilates playlist to go with our routines for 2012!
I have a few places left in each of the following classes: Tuesdays 9.45 Ballet+Pilates fusion, Thursdays 6pm Level 2/3, Thursdays 7pm Int/Adv, Saturdays 11am Open Level.
Sign up today and take the first step in creating a healthier you for 2012!
